SPEAKING VENUES:
Judy has been privileged to
speak at a wide variety of organizations and
settings. A sample of these settings
include
SHE UNDERSTANDS:
Evangelical Beliefs:
Judy grew up in the Baptist church and is now a
member of the Evangelical Covenant church, where
her husband is a worship pastor. She holds
strongly to her conservative evangelical beliefs
while being able to relate well to women of
several denominations. As a ministry wife
in the Seattle area, Judy has been faithfully
serving her church through women’s ministries,
children’s ministry and the music ministry.
Education:
Judy studied education at Biola University
and finished earning her teaching credential
at California Lutheran University. After
teaching in schools, Judy found that she had
a special talent with technology, so she
became a Microsoft Certified Professional
and enjoyed teaching others how to use
computers. This skill eventually became her
own computer training business.
Family:
Judy understands the challenges of wives and
mothers because of her 35 years of marriage and
4 married children. Being a military mom
(a son in the Navy), a missionary mom (a
son serving in Indonesia,) a long-distance
mom (two other children out of state,) and a
grandmother to four beautiful little
grandbabies, she has known her share of
challenges, heartaches and joys. She knows the
joy of raising her children to love the
Lord, yet she felt the pain of having a
prodigal son. She feels the joy of having all
of her children happily married, but she knows
the worries over her son in the war,
and her other son’s family in a third-world
culture. She loves to share how God gives
her peace to handle the potential fears
about each of her children.

Career:
Judy has also been a serious career woman
who has made a difference to others through
her choices of work. She has been a
teacher, executive assistant, computer
trainer, business owner, technical support
specialist, and project manager. While she
was an executive assistant for the Pediatric
AIDS Foundation, she was invited to the
White House for her participation in
research and helping to create a public
service announcement. While she worked for
the Kent School District as a tech support
specialist and project manager, she helped
high school students refurbish and give away
over 1000 computers to low income families.
She has always desired to work her ministry
into her career in some way, which she
encourages others to do as well.
Personal Hurts:
Having survived
accidental electrocution as a baby,
Judy is always reminded by her scars that
beauty and fame are not a priority.
Losing her dad suddenly when he was only
58 reminds her that we may be given a short
time in this life to accomplish as much as
possible for the Kingdom of God. Limited
time on this earth has also sparked her
interest in leaving an enduring legacy and
learning as much as we can about our
heritage. Because of her own hurts and
losses she desires to identify with the
hurts of others, but urges all woman to
strive for excellence despite their
histories.
Hobbies:
Judy's father taught her the value of work,
but her uncle taught her the value of play.
She enjoys hiking, horseback riding (barrel
racing in particular!) and quilting. She
especially enjoys staying in contact with
family and friends through email and
facebook. Reading is always top on her
list, and she dabbles in writing now and
then.
